This Weeks 99cent Store Finds

Heres a quick look at my finds this weekend. I'm sure I'll go back before the weeks out, I know I have a problem, I'm addicted to deals......I always get my blackberries, strawberries and blueberries here and yes they are always fresh. Oh and these fruit snacky thingys are great, when I did the research they seem to have the lease amount of sugar than other fruit snacks. Of course they have sugar but much less.. Happy shopping.

Habitat For Humanity Re-store

Ok I'm going to let you in on another one the places I frequent. The Habitat for Humanity ReCenter. I volunteer in the community a lot and found out about this place when I formed a group at work to help build a house.
This is the habitats store. Here they sell EVERYTHING yes everything with the exception of food :). Where do they get there stuff? Well companies or private entities donate items to the nonprofit, or when they redo or tear down a house they recycle and sell it all. I often find great craft supplies or ideas here. Check the web here Www.habitat.org/restore for your closest restore. This should be your first stop when doing home improvements for they have new and used items . Here is a craft I did with my son using a $1 cabinet door, .50 clips form Ikea and letter stickers from the 99cent store. I have also included some examples of things I found there such as Clorox sanitizer for $1, a box of 12 hand sanitizers for $5 you do the math!!!

Adding Interest To Our Entry

Hello, my sis in law has been telling me I need to post pictures of my hall way transformation so here it goes Les.

My entry way is an on going project for me. I feel this needs to be the  most dramatic since its the first thing that guest see and to some the the only thing lol. But I have been stumped , my entry way is hmmm how can I say this ..... Like some people we know, not naturally fabulous, I need to apply a lot of "make up" to get it there lmbo.

I did decide to paint the hallway that you see with stripes.

When doing and detail using painters tape it's very important to do it right or it will "bleed" through the tape.
Here's the trick: take the base color (the color that was originally on the wall) after taping your stripes or detail, and paint over the top of the tape. Let the paint dry and then paint your stripes.

Here's how it turned out:
And here it is with pictures. I haven't put pictures in the frames yet lol . I Wanted to see how it looked
Here are some more pictures of the entry. You'll see why I'm a little stumped. I want to do something big and dramatic on the stairs since the ceilings so high. (I know they need to be painted lol) I also need to figure out where I can put a bench or something to hold shoes since the stairs become a catch all and there's no room by the door. I'll keep you posted on what I come up with. Youll see the lonely picture I bought but has no home on the stairs.
I think I want to do something cool with pallets and I also need to add some color.

Ahhhh Fashion my first love.......

If you look inside my happy place you'll see endless rows of clothes, shoes and purses. So even though my child care is costing me well over $1000 a month I refuse to look a mess! HA a challenge. So I started my journey to see how I can get expensive fashions for cheap.

Great Dooney bag 4.50 at Goodwill it wasn't my style so I sold online.
Can you believe I found 2pair of these at Once Upon a Child? They were to big but I knew they'd fit them eventually. 7.50 each

To be continued.....

Knowledge is power!!

When saving this couldn't be more true!! So I would like to share some clearance info one one of my favorite stores!!  Target.  Below you will see a copy from my instagram account.

I have also included the markdown schedule so you can plan your trips wisely. So if you know you are going to have to buy summer clothes for the kids go Monday . You can even take if a step further and find out what time they mark down. Usually it's the crack of dawn.

  •  Also the Target website www.target.com always has the greatest deals. Since we live in Ca I can take advantage of when they mark down the seasonal items and clothes. We have the unfair advantage of just putting a blazer or sweater over a summer dress with tights in the winter. You can also buy for next year.
  • Remember if you buy when you need it you spend more. I bought my girls comforters for only 9.98.
  • I also get the girls and my youngest boy t-shirts from here often for only $2 when I see them that cheap I buy every size and color and place in a bin in the garage . *Make sure to mark the bin with the size and place in a are you will see everyday. I made this mistake before and missed the size! But they were great shower gifts lol.
  • Sign up for target text alerts. I get deals sent to my phone every week and coupons that I can show the cashier my phone no clipping!
  • Targets in house brand called UP. I love it. They all are just as good as the name brand stuff. I found this out we we had the twins, I tried their diapers and I love them!!!  No rashes or leaks an I save about $10 a box. Can beat that with a stick. I also buy the up Benadryl, diaper rash cream, sanitary napkins, zip lock bags and trash bags. They pretty much have every item, these are just the ones I use the most. *If your sceptic of the meds compare the ingredients they are always the same.

My spring "blues".

If you are fimilar with California life you know all to well that April (by the way that's my beasties name!! Hey girl lol) is a curious time of the year. One day it will be 57 and rainy and  the next 81. So you can't quite put away the cold gear. I have sent my kids to school only to get to work and it start to rain! I know we have all been there, we spend the day thinking I suck, maybe I can get a friend to take them pants lol.

Well most of April will be like this so I figured this may be my last chance to wear those great Ellen Tracey boots that I got marked down like 4times! They went from like $150 to just 45 ! That's nothing for good leather. I would have spent 3times that! (I'm tough on shoes so I have to get good quality. I know I killed my moms wallet when I was little) Well here they are.

I have been looking for brown boots forever, because I have fat calves. Cute huh. I also broke down and went to Old Navy for the first time in years and actually found some skinnys that fit all my "junk in my trunk".

I paired it with a western shirt I thrifted for $2 and a True republic t my hubby gifted me . (I'm sure he paid to much, he has no patience for looking for a deal!) I had to include a picture of my cute umbrella I got free with purchase from Vickie's.

Ikea Lack Side Table To Ottoman

First official post! You will find as we get further in our journey together that I am a "semi-homemade kinda gal, so places like Ikea are my friend.

Here's what I used
Lack side table from Ikea $7.99
One yard of faux leather fabric from Walmart $8 and some change
Carpenter tacks from Walmart they were like 1.60 not over $2 I used 3 packages
Staple gun
Cheap pillow or use an old one around the house free!

(as I'm adding this first post I have one twin "brushing my hair" she's really just striking me in the back of the head with the brush, and one climbing me like a jungle gym, and my son asking me millions of questions it's clear I'll need to set some boundaries )

Let's start by saying I never take measurements I "eye ball " everything which is horrible!! So if you measure lol measure the top of the table and then the sides and add an inch more.

Then cut open your pillows case. Mine was wonderful it was batting that was rolled like a cinnamon roll. I unrolled and put on top of table and cut. You can use a spray adhesive to attach the batting to the table

I found that it is easier to screw the legs off when trying to staple the fabric on lol. Should have been common sense!! Ha! Gotta learn to laugh at your self it burns calories .

Pull fabric tight and staple all around the bottom so they won't show. I had to use a hammer to puts them all the way in so they wouldn't scrap little bodies.

It is Important to leave the area where the leg screws in clear or it either won't screw all the way in or the table/ottoman will be lopsided and wiggle.
Here is a close up of the fabric and the tacks
